CAMP

On Thursday the 29th of October the 4/5s,Mr D,Mr H,Mrs R Mrs A,Mrs AR,Mrs S and two pearents,Mr M and Mrs T went on a camp one night to Camp GoodEnough and came back Friday the 30th of October.Camp GoodEnough isin Balambie NSW

We went on camp tomake new friends, learn how to work as a team and stepout of our comfort zone or try new things. We had to be at school by 8:15am and we departed school at8:45am

We had to load our luggage onto the bus .There were two buses,a big bus and a small bus.I was in the small bus.It takes roughly 1 and a half hours to get there and it was really good becaue we got to watch Peter Pan and it was the reallife one. When we got there we had to unload the luggage and the bus driver to have acompetition which was, would the boys or the girls unload the most luggage. After that we had to carry our luggage down a big hill and it was painful.

Once we got to the cabins, we were told which cabin we would be in. There were two cabins for boys and two cabins for girls. Cabins 1 and 2 were the girls cabins and 3 and 4 were the boys cabins. I was in cabin 1 with some of my friends and with my best friend Taylor. The beds in the cabins were bunk beds and I was on the top bunk.

At camp we had to do duty groups, the two jobs were to set up and clean up. There were eight groups and each group had to do either set up or clean up. I was in Mr H's group and I was with some of my frieds and we were on set up duty. I was on breakfast duty set up and we got to set the table. When everybody was seated in the dining room, whoever was on set up got to get up and say something about the food, for example; Crunchy cornflakes or refereshing salad. For lunch we had hamburgers, sandwiches and carrots.

After lunch Mr H's group, Mrs A's group, Mrs S's group and Mrs Ar's group went to the hall to do initiative games. The games were musical groups. Musical grupls is like musical statues or musical chairs but when the music stops, one of the staff would hold up a number and whatever number that person held up you have to get into a gorup with that same number in it. Another game is carpet jump and you had ten carpets and you had to throw the carpets and jump from carpet to carpet to get to the other side and my group won. While the four groups were at the initiative games the other four groups got to go on the flying fox. When all the groups were done we went outside for some free time.

When free time was over we had to have a shower. Some people complained that the water was too cold, but I complained about the exact opposite. The shower I had was too hot and I got burnt trying to turn some of the cold water on to make it not cold but not hot.

After the showers we had to get dressed, wash our hands and then go into the dining room for dinner. For dinner we had beef lasagne, potatoe bake and some salad. I didn't like the potatoe bake, I like my mum's better.

For ddessert we had pancakes wtih ice-cream and maple syrup. I really enjoyed dessert but I think the pancake was really a picklet.

After dinner and dessert we had to go into the hall and we got to play some games. The first thing that we did was trivia. We were in our normal groups and Mr H's group was tcalled the H 'n'adors and another group name was the Smarties and there were other names too. What we had to do was, the teachers had writtend down questions and we had to answer them. Some of the questions were "What's Mrs R's favourite colour"? "When did Mr D come to S.J.V"? and "What is Mr H's dog's name">. There was also a movie trivia and Mr D played a part from a movie and we had to guess what movie it was from. My group won the trivia night.

We also had a talent show and me, Jade, Sian, Taylor and Katherine did a new report and we got lots of laughs out of it. There was also the elastic girls which was Kate and Maddie C and they did GREAT gymnastics and there were way more acts.

After that we went to bed but nobody wen to sleep till late and we got up at 5.00am.

The next day I was on set up for breakfast. For breakfast we had baked beans, hash browns, spread, toast, cordial, water, cereal and fruit. Breakfast was really good that day.

After breakfast the other four groups went to the flying fox up the big hill. The flying fox was so much fun and what they did was to put you in a body harness with a rope attached to you and they would pull you up this huge tower then a lady would pull up the rope and tell you to hold onto it. The lady would then push you down and when you got to the bottom you let go of the rope so they could pull you down, it was really great fun.

After that we had to have lunch which was hot dogs and cordial, the hot dogs were very nice. After that we had to carry our luggage up the big hill and when it was on the bus we were on our way back to school. The DVD on our bus wasn't working so everyone was talking and playing hand games.

When we got back to school our parents picked us up and we went home.

Camp was lots of fun and I can't wait until next year.
